Last night, many a college student ventured out for Halloween part 2, a night of costumes, parties and cheap drunken fun. I stayed in and watched A Walk to Remember.
For some reason, in my state of utter boredom, I decided to revisit this classic sap-fest from my early teenage life. As I curled up under my covers and watch the Christianity-laced love story, I remembered seeing the movie for the first time in theaters with two of my best friends.
So I faked it. Everyone in the theater had tears in their eyes, so I squeezed out a few myself. I even began to whimper for dramatic effect.

My friends will never let me live it down.
Well, last night, upon watching those same emotion filled moments, I had the opposite problem. My roommate had just come back from dinner with her friend and turned on SNL to watch the McCain skit. While she could barely contain her laughter, I did everything I could to keep the tears inside.
Does this new swell of emotion mean I'm growing up?
